‘Shameful’ use of restraints on disabled patients – BBC News

The BBC has recently found out that the use of restraints on adults with learning disabilities in hospitals units has had a large rise of 50% between 2016 and 2017.

The BBC Radio 4’s File on 4 programme obtained the information from NHS digital.

There were more that 22,000 restraints in 2017, equivalent to once every half a hour, up from 15,000 in 2016.
