About the University
We are a forward-looking, modern university with a proud tradition as a provider of high quality education and a focus on applied research.
Our students benefit from state-of-the-art equipment and facilities in all academic disciplines including health, design and engineering laboratories, performing arts studios and computing centres.
Our city-centre campus is continually developing and evolving. Two of our major investments are The Hub, the centre for social life on campus and the iconic new Engineering and Computing building. The Hub, which opens in September 2011, will bring together vibrant retail, catering and entertainment spaces to ensure you live university life to the full. Hub highlights include the Students' Union, express supermarket, extensive food court serving world cuisine, Costa Coffee and a brand new performance venue including a main room and bar with a combined capacity of around 1,200 which will add a whole new dimension to the music and performing arts scene at the University. Our new Engineering and Computing Building, which is due to open in 2012 is designed to be the most advanced technological learning space in the UK.
We are a major presence in Coventry, which contributes to the city's friendly and vibrant atmosphere and also enables us to foster successful business partnerships.
Through our links with leading edge businesses and organisations in the public and voluntary sectors, our students are able to access project and placement opportunities that enhance their employability on graduation.
In The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, we successfully prepare our students for careers in some of modern society's most important fields – Nursing, Health and Social Care, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Dietetics and Nutrition, Applied Psychology, Biological and Analytical Science industries and the Sport and Fitness sector.
The Faculty has strong partnerships with employers from a range of sectors including Strategic Health Authorities, NHS Trusts, Social Services, Scientific industries, Prisons and the Independent Charity and Voluntary Health and Social Care sectors. These partnerships mean that the Faculty's courses reflect the contemporary needs of employers and provide direct routes to employment for our students and enhanced career pathways.
